ESPN Poker Tuesday: Ivey Takes Control
Poker returns to the airwaves Tuesday night as the World Series of Poker Main Event continues to build momentum going into the return of the November Nine. Tuesday's episode features Phil Ivey on center stage as he takes on all challengers in his quest to win the top spot.
Although the coverage is heavily Ivey-based, expect to see a number of top pros in battle including Main Event winners Joe Hachem and Peter Eastgate. The ESPN shooters also provide coverage of four other Main Event winners including Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Dan Harrington, Bobby Baldwin and Phil "The Poker Brat" Hellmuth.
In addition to the poker pros looking to cash, actor Lou Diamond Phillips of La Bamba and Stand and Deliver fame does his best to take a piece of the sizable prize pool. He is joined by 2008 November Nine member Dennis Phillips, who valiantly tries to fight his way toward the money bubble of 649 players.
In addition to providing Main Event coverage, Tuesday's Inside Deal episode serves up another poker morsel with the new UltimateBet poker pro, Joe Sebok. During the interview, Sebok discusses his deep run in the 2009 Main Event, his PokerRoad efforts, and how playing against the game's elite has helped change his game for the better. Hosted by ESPN poker editor Andrew Feldman, ESPN the Magazine contributor Laura Lane and ESPN.com's Bernad Lee, ESPN's Inside Deal continues to up the stakes as we head into the final weeks of the show so don't miss a beat.
