*Denotes a heads-up deal.
With three starting flights and the promise of a $100,000 prize pool, folks flocked to the series and ponied up $675, some more than once.
The guarantee was smashed and Hard Rock added $10,000 to first place for a pool of $224,170. The money bubble approached and busted in the third level of Day 2, giving the remaining participants a guaranteed min-cash of $1,178. Day 1 overall chip leader Jesse McVicker built a big stack early, but fizzled out in 29th place. Other notables to run deep, but fall short were Justin Gardenhire (22nd) and Dan "Wretchy" Martin (16th).
RunGood pro Jonathan Gaviao had better luck, patiently wading his way to the final table, before finally busting in fifth place. It was Clark though, that stayed patient and steady, eventually dispatching a tough Clyde Lorance in a short, but hard-fought heads-up match to take home $45,338.
After Justin Bond went out in third for $20,239, Clark and Lorance agreed to a deal and then sped up play with levels increasing every 10 minutes. Before long, the blinds shot up to 200,000/400,000, and that's when the final hand took place.
Lorance got his money in good with the 3?3? against the K?3? of Clark, but the K?7?4?8?4? board delivered Clark with the win.
