GPI Player of the Year: Connor Drinan Moves into Second Place

Each week, the Global Poker Index updates its Player of the Year race using a formula that takes into account a player's 13 best results according to its formula. For a look at the entire list, visit the official GPI website.

Connor Drinan jumped to the #2 spot this week, following a fourth-place showing in the $25,000 High Roller in the ARIA High Roller XIII. With only 12 cashes comprising his score, Drinan's next cash could very well vault him ahead of Dzmitry Urbanovich for the lead.

Other top 10 movement this week included Nick Petrangelo moving up one spot, thanks to his taking down his first World Series of Poker bracelet in Event #4: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout. Meanwhile, Sorel Mizzi emerged from a logjam at the bottom of the top 10 after cashing in Event 6: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Hyper Turbo.
