Unibet Open Partners with Cash Game Festival and Unibet Deepstack Open
The Unibet Open has announced two exciting partnerships extending their approach to bringing quality live poker festivals to recreational and professional players alike.
Unibet Open Partners With the Cash Game Festival
The first partnership is with the Cash Game Festival which takes effect immediately at the next stop of the year at the Banco Casino Bratislava in Bratislava, Slovakia on April 4-8.
The Cash Game Festival features more than 120 hours of consecutive live cash games at stakes low and high along with two televised feature tables a day. In addition to the action-packed games, the Cash Game Festival hosts plenty of exciting activities away from the felt for online qualifiers and those that take part in the much talked about hospitality package.
As has been the case for more than a dozen Cash Game Festivals, the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to cover both this festival and future ones including the following stop in the Estonian capital of Tallinn on April 25-29.
Unibet Open Joins Forces With the Unibet Deepstack Open
In May, the Unibet Open will be joining forces for the first time with the Unibet Deepstack Open in conjunction with Casino Malta at the luxurious Intercontinental Hotel in the vibrant area of St. Julian's, Malta.
The festival will kick off with the two-day 330 Unibet Deepstack Open Cup on May 16-17 with the final day streaming on the Unibet Open website.
Unibet Opens Head of Events and Sponsorship Nataly Sopacuaperu is thrilled about the Unibet Open and the Unibet Deepstack Open joining forces.
"Were very excited about this partnership," said Sopacuaperu. "Malta is going to be a sensational event and it will be great for Unibet Open and Unibet Deepstack Open regulars to get the chance to meet up and compete against each other."
In total, the Unibet Open Malta will feature 10 action-packed events highlighted by the 1,100 Unibet Open Main Event. The last time the festival visited Malta in May 2016, Czech Republic's Martin Soukup outlasted a field of 292 entrants to win the trophy and the massive 65,000 top prize.
Other events on the schedule include the 220 NL Turbo Bounty tournament, a 330 Deepstack tourney, and a special 110 Ladies Event hosted by Daiva Byrne. In addition to Byrne, many other Unibet ambassadors are confirmed including Espen Uhlen Jorsad, Rauno "Estonian Jesus" Tahvonen, two-time Unibet Open champion Dan Murariu, and The Chip Race podcast hosts Dara O'Kearney and David Lappin.
Another highlight to the festival in Malta is the 10,000 invitational Battle Royale freeroll where eSports stars will be competing for a top prize of 5,000. During the last Battle Royale at the Unibet Open London in February, Dutch player Thijs Molendijk shipped the title with Phil "syrinxx" Schoenebaum taking second place, and Scott "Sco" McMillan also cashing in third place.
Player of the Year
The Unibet Player of the Year contest was launched during the Unibet Open London with every player earning points in live and online events. As was the case in London, players that participate in the Unibet Open Malta will earn leaderboard points based on their performance.
The top four players on the annual live leaderboard will join the top four players on the annual online leaderboard and the overall leader in the Unibet Deepstack Open leaderboard for a Battle of Champions event where the winner will be declared the Unibet Player of the Year.
In addition to having the honor of this title, the winning player will also be awarded a live events package valued at 10,000 with others that participate also receiving amazing prizes.
