CPP partypoker: Schwippert Wins The Warm Up, Ventura Leads Main Event

It was another massive Sunday over at partypoker, where action in the 2020 Caribbean Poker Party (CPP) is getting as juicy as the island's signature Bahama Mama's.
In CPP #07 The Warm Up, both Day 1c and Day 2 played out on Sunday with Germany's Jan-Eric Schwippert ultimately ending on top. The event drew a total of 631 entries creating a total prize pool of $631,000, and Schwippert took the biggest slice of the prize pool with a haul of $100,273.
The second and final starting flight of the CPP #02 Main Event was also scheduled. The event, which sports a lofty $5M guarantee for a buy-in of $5,300, drew 547 players to take a shot at this massive prize pool. A total of 86 out of them made their way to Day 2 with Diego Ventura leading the way.

Jan-Eric Schwippert Defeats Chris Moorman in CPP #07 The Warm Up ($100,273)
CPP #07 The Warm Up played out fully on Sunday with both a turbo Day 1c starting flight in the early hours, as well as the second and final day later in the night. 326 players jumped in the Day 1c flight to create a total prize pool of $631,000, smashing it's guarantee of $500k by a wide margin. Online crusher Pedro Padilha led 69 survivors to Day 2 to join earlier leaders Tom Delaine and Klaus Mortensen.
Neither one of them would end up victorious as ultimately, German high roller Jan-Eric Schwippert (lead photo) took home the gold. Schwippert collected $44,070 for finishing first and added a massive progressive bounty of $56,203 on top of it. Schwippert defeated Chris Moorman heads-up, who received $44,008 for finishing second and a bounty of $11,164.
Hannes Speiser, who won the CPP #05 Heads Up on Thursday, was among the final tablists, as was Delaine.

Diego Ventura Leads After Day 1B of CPP #02 Main Event
The second and final starting day of the flagship event of the festival, CPP #02 Main Event, saw 547 players put up the buy-in of $5,300 to compete for the $5M guaranteed prize pool. Together with the 490 that signed up for Day 1A, the tournament has already inched past its lofty guarantee with late registration open until the start of Day 2, tonight at 7:05 p.m. GMT.
After playing 18 levels, the 547 players were whittled down to 86 hopefuls and Peruvian star Diego Ventura topped the counts with 18,748,998. Ventura, #1 on the Peru all-time money list on The Hendon Mob with more than $1.2M in lifetime winnings, stayed ahead of the aforementioned Petrone (15,372,144), Daniel Colpoys (15,261,296), Anton Wigg (14,536,280) and one of the players from the Pokercode Grindhouse, Mario Mosboeck, in fifth (14,177,175).
partypoker ambassadors Anatoly Filatov (12,991,576) and Ludovic Geilich (3,431,076), Kahle Burns (10,732,793), Arsenii Karmatchkii (6,324,808), Scott Margereson (5,033,931), and Timothy Adams (3,410,629) are just a handful of the big names that made it through to Day 2, which will kick off tonight at 7:05p GMT.

Day 1A was played a week ago on Sunday, where superstar Michael Addamo topped the first flight with 18,658,743 in chips. Pedro Padilha, Manuel Ruivo, and Matas Cimbolas were also among those that bagged big.
