Second High Rollers Week Title For Julian Stuer
Julian Stuer is in the form of his life. A few days ago, the Austrian took down the HRW 07: $10,300 NLHE High Roller and banked $264,636. On November 14, Stuer came out on top of a 93-strong field in another $10,300 buy-in event and saw another $220,401 wing its way to his GGPoker account.
Thirteen of those 93 elite grinders won a slice of the $930,000 prize pool. British superstar Stephen Chidwick led the event for a while but was the player who burst the money bubble.
Chidwick was down to a solitary big blind when he was all-in with pocket tens against Joao Vieiras ace-six. An ace on the river busted Chidwick in 14th and locked up at least $23,250 for the remaining players.
Steve ODwyer, Marc Face-O Carola, Pinoj, and Bert Stevens all got their hands on this sum, the latters exit confirming the final table.
Russias Viacheslav Buldygin was the ninth-place finisher, his ace-nine losing to Ivan Zufics ace-five of diamonds courtesy of a diamond flush.
Recent WSOP Online MILLIONAIRE MAKER champion Daniel Dvoress fell in eighth, again at the hands of Zufic. Dvoress shoved from the button for 13 big blinds with pocket sevens after Zufic had opened with a min-raise. Zufic called with pocket jacks and the rest is history.
Seventh-place and $41,538 went to Juan Pardo Dominguez who also ran into jacks. Dominguezs ace-queen lost the coinflip against Vieira to reduce the player count by one.
Vieira kept his foot firmly on the gas and sent the dangerous Darren Elias to the showers. Elias, a four-time World Poker Tour champion, had his aces cracked by Vieiras ace-queen with Vieira catching a queen on the flop and another on the river.
Ace-queen reared its head again during the 30th level of the night. Blinds were now 40,000/80,000/12,000a and Fedor Holz raised to 168,000. Holz called with ace-queen when Artur Martirosian three-bet all-in with king-queen for 1,563,282 chips. Neither player improved their holding but Holz didnt need to. Game over for Martirosian.
Holz was now the chip leader by some margin and was wielding his big stack unrelentingly. He sent Zufic to the rail in fourth place when his ace-high prevailed against the Croatians king-queen.
The German superstar then busted Vieira in third, resigning the Portuguese star to a $126,409 consolation prize.
Stuer started the heads-up battle with Holz training in chips, but soon clawed his way into the lead. The final hand saw Stuer initially limp with ace-jack of clubs, Holz make it 465,000 to go, then Stuer sprang into action with an all-in bet. Holz called off his 2,450,986 chips with pock four and couldnt get there as the board ran out nine-high.
Holz banked $166,915 leaving Stuer to claim his second HRW title of the week and a cool $220,401 in prize money.

Niklas Astedt Secures HRW 15 Title
Some 151 players bought into the $5,200 HRW 15: NLHE High Roller and created a $755,000 prize pool. One of online pokers living legends, Niklas Astedt, got his hands on the lions share of this princely sum, namely $156,496.
Dozens of high profile players bought in but failed in their quest to at least reach the money places. Such luminaries as Ole Schemion, Christian Rudolph, Nick Petrangelo, and Sami Kelopuro bought in but busted before the top 20 place; Kelopuro burst the bubble with his exit in 21st place.
Steve ODwyer was the first player to cash, his 20th place finish netting him $12,124.
Daniel Dvoress, Dario Sammartino, Ami Barer, Matthias Eibinger, and Guillaume Nolet were among those seeing a return on their investment.
A pair of Team partypoker pros were the first players eliminated at the final table. Mikita Badziakouski crashed out in ninth before Isaac Haxtons tournament ended abruptly in eighth place.
shahter98, David Peters and Artur Martirosians demises left only four players in contention for the title before Kenneth Smaron dusted off his stack.
Heads-up was set when Estonias MrUnagi! fell by the wayside in third, leaving Juan Pardo Dominguez and Astedt to lock horns one-on-one for the title. Both players were guaranteed six-figures but there was more than $35,000 difference in the payouts.
No deal was struck so Astedt reeled in a $156,496 addition to his bankroll when he defeated his tough final opponent. Dominguezs runner-up finish resulted in a $119,269 payout.
