The RunGood Poker Series Heads To Japan For First Overseas Tournament

After twelve years of bringing high-quality, mid-stakes poker to the United States, the RunGood Poker Series is going on the buses for its first overseas jaunt to Japan.
The RGPS is sponsoring a multi-day event at the Japan Open Poker Tour Grand Final festival in Tokyo. The winner of the RGPS Colossus will win an RGPS ring, while the whole field will have a shot at taking home some RunGood merch.
Because the RGPS Colossus will run alongside the main JOPT Grand Final festival, players can also compete for JOPT Trophies and professional contracts.
RunGood Poker Series In Japan
The JOPT Grand Final festival is on from April 25 to May 6 at Belle Salle Takadanobaba in the Shinjuku ward of Tokyo. The Colossus will take up three days of that, running from April 27 to April 29.
Players can buy into the event for ¥25,000 ($166) on any of the four Day 1 flights which take place on the 27th and 28th. There will be two flights on each day.

Growing Poker In Japan

The RGPS is leaning on the JOPT's long experience of running poker tournaments within Japan's unusual gambling regulations to launch the event. While the partnership with RGPS provides the JOPT with an overseas partner and interesting new ways to grow the game at home.
“Partnering with the RunGood Poker Series is an exciting step for Japanese poker,” said Kamei Tsubasa in his role as President of the JOPT.
“We are honored to host RGPS’s first international ring event and provide our players with the opportunity to compete for a championship title with industry-wide recognition.”
