Ionel Turns Up With An Unlikely Hand
Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen's hopes of becoming the third consecutive Danish EPT champion have just taken a blow after a clash with Anton Ionel over on Table 7.
Jorgensen had opened from under the gun then called when Ionel three-bet from the cutoff. The dealer spread out the flop and Jorgensen lead into his opponent with a bet of 2,000. Almost immediately afterwards Anton raises it up to 4,700 and Jorgensen looked like he had a real decision to make. He sat riffling chips before taking back his two red 1,000 chips and replacing them with a single blue 5,000 one. Call.
The turn saw the make an appearance and Jorgensen lead into his opponent once again, this time making it 10,000 to play. As he had done on the flop, Ionel raised when the action was on him but this time all in for what turned out to be just over 17,000 in total. Jorgensen made the call and the cards were revealed.

Ionel had three-bet an under the gun raise with ace-three then spiked trips on the flop! Easy game! Jorgensen looked shocked and was resigned to defeat. The river failed to help him and he had to hand over all but 4,750 of his chip to Ionel.
"So you re-raised with ace-three because you knew some threes were coming," quizzed Jorgensen in a sarcastic tone, before adding, "nice hand."
