The 2019 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo?Casino EPT Kicks Off at 4 PM with the €1,100 NLHE Freezeout
Welcome to the first day of the 2019 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo?Casino European Poker Tour here in the Monte Carlo Bay Resort & Hotel in Monaco. The jam-packed schedule of 41 events kicks off today at 4 PM local time with the first day of the €1,100 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout. Last year, this event attracted 183 players with Mazin Khoury walking away victorious with €177,510 and the PokerStars Spade.
Other notable players who reached the final table included Borge Sandsgaard, Marcin Chmielewski, and Dominique Terzian. Last year’s tournament was scheduled towards the end of the festival while it is now the opener in this year’s proceedings in the Salle des Etoiles at the Sporting Club. PokerNews will be covering a slew of the events here including the 10,300 NLHE Single Reentry later on today. Other events to follow include the €1,100 French National Championship, €100,000 EPT Super High Roller, €330 EPT Cup, and of course, the €5,300 EPT Main Event.
When the “shuffle up and deal” has been announced at 4 PM, players will be seated with a starting stack of 20,000 in chips. The tournament is scheduled to play 12 levels of 40 minutes each today and features a big blind ante which will come into play during the second level. A 20-minute break will take place after every three levels with a 75-minute dinner break after the sixth level of play. No reentries will be possible as it’s a freezeout and registration will close at the start of Level 9 which will be at approximately 10:55 PM.
