Welcome to the 2020 Grosvenor Goliath Online #11: ��125 MAIN EVENT Day 2 coverage with the action set to resume at 2 pm BST.
With the world's largest poker tournament outside of Las Vegas unable to take place in its normal home of the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, this year, Grosvenor decided to take the action online and give the UK poker players a taste of the Goliath's unique opportunities.
Yesterday's Day 1 saw 2,013 entries take to the tables over nine hours of play, with just 205 returning with chips today for a chance to take the title.
The 2020 Goliath Main Event ��100,000 guarantee was more than doubled, with the final prize pool set at ��231,495, and a first-place prize worth��42,248.
"BTPsOverpriced" will lead the charge when play resumes after an impressive run created a chip stack worth 1,148,820.
Team Grosvenor's Rick Trigg will retake his virtual seat after he progressed with 121,057, and like the rest of his opponents, will have one eye of making the top 144 places for a min-cash worth ��370.
Goliath History
Grosvenor first ran the Goliath back in August 2011. Some 1,765 players bought in for ��120 and were all outlasted by Lee Rawsonwho banked an impressive ��32,705. The event has grown every year since its creation to the point an incredible 9,300 players competed in 2019, making it the largest live poker tournament run outside of Las Vegas. It ended in a five-way chop that saw those five player share almost ��340,000!
