PACOOP 14: $500 NLHE [6-Max, High Roller], $50K Gtd
Day 1 Completed
Event #14 of the 2020 PACOOP: $500 NLHE [6-Max, High Roller], $50K GTD surpassed its guaranteed prize pool Wednesday night, drawing 169 entries (116 entries, 53 re-entries) to produce a $79,430 total prize pool.
Just over five-and-a-half hours of play brought the number of remaining players down to one as "NeolithicFarmer" defeated "ActuallLy" heads-up to claim the first-place winnings of $16,067.12.
The tournament started with 40 registered players, though that number more than doubled in the first three levels of play.
Roughly one-third of the 169 entries recorded throughout the two and a half hour late registration period remained when the prize pool became official, and it took less than an hour from there to reach the money, where the top 23 were paid.
Another hour went by before the final two tables were reached, and eventually, only six remained after "NeolithicFarmer" eliminated "pariszoo11" in 7th place on the final table bubble.
Place | Player | Prize |
---|---|---|
1 | "NeolithicFarmer" | $16,067.12 |
2 | "ActuallLy" | $12,073.63 |
3 | "dkline1984" | $9,072.80 |
4 | "TripleAce418" | $6,817.81 |
5 | "CleggsOnGG" | $5,123.29 |
6 | "Homie Sr" | $3,849.93 |
Once the final table was reached, it looked as "NeolithicFarmer" was the clear favorite to win as they continued to steamroll the competition eliminating "Homie Sr" in sixth place, "CleggsOnGG" in fifth place, and "dkline1984" in third palce. "ActuallLy" was the only other player to eliminate someone at the final table as they dropped "TripleAce418" in fourth place, leaving the two players heads-up.
"NeolithicFarmer" held almost a 2:1 chip advantage once the heads-up battle started but "ActuallLy" wouldn't go down without a fight. "ActuallLy" went on a little heater in Level 29 and left "NeolithicFarmer" with only 12 big blinds at one point.
The heater wouldn't last long as "NeolithicFarmer" hit running cards to make straight on the river holding ace-six against "ActuallLy's" ace-queen.
Once the tables turned, "NeolithicFarmer" made quick work of "ActuallLy" and claimed victory.
