Preben "prebz" Stokkan Wins SCOOP-62-H: $5,200 NLHE [8-Max, PKO, High Roller], $1M Gtd ($275,947)
After a furious finish, Spring Championship of Online Poker 62-H $5,200 NLHE [8-Max, PKO, High Roller] has wrapped up, and a dominating performance by Preben "prebz" Stokkan left no doubt who would be scooping all the monies in the 235-entry field.
Stokkan eliminated six of his final table opponents, including the last five consecutively, to lap the field in prize money by both winning the $101,026 for first and snagging a staggering $174,929 in bounties. Stokkan's aggressive shoving strategy late worked amazingly well because not only did he show up with numerous huge hands, but the times he didn't, he often made winners anyway.
The Norwegian playing from the U.K., who has $2.2 million in live cashes, topped a final table that included Joao "Naza114" Vieira, Conor "1_conor_b_1" Beresford and David "MissOracle" Yan.

Stokkan had one of the biggest stacks among the 27 players entering the day, and he got a idea of what sort of day it would be fairly early on. With 18 left, "3 bucati" three-bet over a late position open out of the small blind and Stokkan woke up with ace-king offsuit and shoved in the big. 3 bucati had ace-king suited, but he'd watch helplessly as Stokkan ran a backdoor flush on him to bust him.
While the likes of Sam "Str8$$$Homey" Greenwood, Wiktor "limitless" Malinowski, Juan "Malaka$tyle" Pardo and Niklas "Lena900" Astedt failed to make the final table along with Connor "blanconegro" Drinan who has already scooped four titles thus far Stokkan went into the final table tied at the top of the counts with Pieter "XMorphineX" Aerts. Each player had almost 200 big blinds.
Stokkan won a key pot to secure the chip lead when he hit a set on the river with eights against the ace-king of Aerts, giving himself some cushion at the top even though the pot wasn't terribly large. Then, his truly dominant run start as he held with a dominating ace-queen against the king-queen suited of Yan to bust him.
With double the stack of the next player, Stokkan began ratcheting up the pressure. At six-handed, he had a laughably large chip lead with 32.6 million of the roughly 59 million in play, next-best being Beresford's 6.6 million.
Even a loss with aces to the ace-king of Vieira couldn't slow Stokkan. He simply won flips to bust Aerts and Michel "FreeLancerZZ" Dattani before coolering Beresford with aces over ace-king and this time holding. After he dispatched start-of-day leader "Pimms," by now the short stack, only Vieira remained.
Down nearly 10-to-1, Vieira had no hope of a comeback after Stokkan turned a flush and Vieira rivered top pair with the nut flush blocker, with which he called off his remaining chips.
