For the first time in over two years, the Mid-States Poker Tour has returned to the JACK Casino in Cleveland for another series. The $1,100 Main Event No-Limit Hold’em is one of four trophy events this week that also include the $400 Pot-Limit Omaha, $135 Nightly No-Limit Hold’em, and $360 Last Chance No-Limit Hold’em. Unlike those however, the main event boasts an impressive $500,000 guarantee on the prize pool, nearly double the $300,000 when the tour came in January of 2020.

Steele beat out a field of 611 entrants that included players like DJ MacKinnon (41st-$2,548),Christopher Moon (26th-$3,675), and Adam Friedman ($5,927). The final table saw Ronnie Dowdy finish runner up to Steele, both are expected to make return showings at this year’s run of the main event. Other players expected to make appearances in this event include Renato Spahiu, Daniel Sepiol, and Michael Berk.
Players will start out with 25,000 chips with the starting level of 100/100 and a big blind ante of 100. Levels will escalate every 40-minutes with a ten minute break after every three levels, with late registration closing at the beginning of level 13 with the day continuing until Level 15. Those who are unable to find bags at the end of today will have opportunities to re-enter on Day 1b, and 1c on Friday May 6th and Saturday May 7th. All of these flights will reconvene on Sunday May 8th at 11 AM to a winner.
