Preflop Aggression Doesn't Pay Off for Toole
An under-the-gun player limped and was quickly met with a raise to 525 from a player in early position. A middle-position player made the call, and action folded around to Jake Toole in the big blind. Toole, who busted yesterday and decided to re-enter today, decided to put in a three-bet to 2,400. The UTG player got out of the way while the original raiser made it 4,500 to go.
The MP limper made the call, as did Toole, and it was three-way action to the flop. Toole checked, as did the EP player, and the MP player took the opportunity to fire out 6,600. There was some deliberation by both Toole and the EP player, but both ultimately decided to concede the hand.
Toole was off to a good start in the first to levels, but that hand set him back to 18,500.
