Third, First, Last, and...?
Stud
"Third, first, last," that's how Ron Ware summarized his appearances in the last three years of the $1,500 Eight-Game at WSOP. He finished third in 2016 before beating Mike Ross heads-up for a bracelet in 2017. Last year was a completely different story for Ware who claimed to be the first eliminated player.
Ware's start to this year's edition hasn't gone too well so far as he'd already been seen down to 2,500. But Ware recently earned some chips in a weird hand that had both players finishing with just two hole cards.
The was accidentally exposed for Ware's opponent on seventh street and it was ruled that Ware's card would have to be opened as well. Ware called one more bet despite facing paired aces, and he scooped the pot with three jacks.
