Let There Be An Ocean
On a flop reading 9?K?A?, Daniel Negreanu called a small bet from Sultan Khair, who made mention of the cheap price. The turn brought the J? and again, Khair sized down and bet 40,000. Negreanu made the call and they saw the 6? on the river. This time, Khair bet 80,000, making mention of what a good price Negreanu was being given to call.
Negreanu, before folding, went on to say, "I would pay $100,000 [cash] to see one more card... I'm serious. I had the royal flush draw!" and he showed the J?10? to prove it, mucking his hand. In the process he also revealed a 9x which prompted Khair to open his hand to reveal he only had an ace for top pair on the river. "Agh, I wasn't going to call you with jacks and nines..." said Negreanu.
Khair went on to say he would have happily taken the $100,000 to see a sixth card on the board, colloquially known as the ocean.
