MUST SEE - Crazy Runout in EPT London Main Event Boosts Ullereng; Tice Eliminated in Level 1!
Table Of Contents
The PokerStars European Poker Tour London at the fantastic Hilton Park Lane has been a roaring success so far. Several players have picked up some huge scores, such as Henrik Hecklen, who took down the 50,000 Super High Roller just moments ago for 652,700.
While that event wrapped up earlier on, the 5,300 EPT London Main Event is still in full swing, with Day 1b currently playing out. So far, there have been 401 entries in the second starting flight and has just 250 players remaining.
From Aces Cracked to Aces Full
One player fortunate to still be in contention is Norway's Mats Ullereng, who just experienced a wild ride in the Main Event. Ullereng was all-in and at risk of elimination after he put in his last 40,900 chips following a button versus small blind encounter with Wayne Heung.
The cards were revealed and Ullereng was a massive favorite as he held pocket aces while Heung had a pair of red queens. The jack-high all diamond flop kept Ullereng ahead but Heung would take the lead if another diamond hit the felt. That's exactly what happened on the turn as the dealer brought in the A? to give Heung the flush, however Ullereng wasn't drawing dead as he picked up outs to quads and a full house.
Another jack appeared on the river to boat up Ullereng and the table fell silent. Heung remained in his seat, seemingly not impressed with the river card and was eliminated just a few hands later.
Landon Tice Busts Main Event
Landon Tice also appeared in Day 1b of the Main Event but has since ended up on the wrong side of the rail.
In a hand involving Julien Sitbon and Samuel Ju, the American lost most of his stack in a brutal cooler. In the first level of the day, action began with Tice opening to 300 from the button. Both Ju and Sitbon called from the blinds.
The blinds checked to Tice on the 8?8?6? flop, who continued for 200. Ju then popped it to 900 before Sitbon three-bet the flop to 2,500. A cold three-bet on the flop following a check-raise is pretty rare and surprisingly, both Tice and Ju called.
Sitbon bet 3,000 on the 9? turn and again both players called, which brought in the A? river. Sitbon fired a third barrel and sized up to 13,500 and only Tice made the call. Sitbon showed he had pocket nines for a turned full house while Tice had ace-eight for inferior boat and was left with a short stack.

Not long after, Tice was ousted by Ju after they got their stacks in preflop with the former at risk of elimination. Tice had pocket tens but ran into pocket kings and was unable to improve to stay in the Main Event.
Across Day 1a and 1b there have been 662 entries into the Main Event, with 83 players making it through to Day 2 from Day 1a. Another seven-figure prize pool has been created, with 3,210,700 being the current tally. Those figures are expected to rise as late registration is open until the start of Day 2, which begins on Monday, October 25 at 12 p.m. BST.
